OPAL (Outdoor Play & Learning)

Working with staff, governors, children and our families, we have one simple aim, 

amazing playtimes for every child every day.

We are proud to say that we are an OPAL school and even more delighted to

announce that we have been awarded the Platinum Standard Quality Mark!

 OPAL is an award-winning, mentor supported programme that is supporting us to improve the quality of our play opportunities. OPAL is the only programme of its kind that has been independently proven to sustainably improve the quality of play in British primary schools.

Our school vision is that everyone flourishes throughout their time with us, enjoying life in all its fullness and that applies to both academic learning and learning through play. We believe a positive play experience enhances a child’s emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

Our play co-ordinator, the fabulous Mrs Thompson, is qualified in Level 2 PARS playwork.
